The Autohive Reddit integration connects your workflows to Reddit, enabling you to search for posts across subreddits and engage with the community through automated comments and replies.

  • Search Posts: Find relevant posts across any subreddit with filtering options
  • Post Comments: Automatically reply to posts or engage in comment threads
  • Gather Insights: Extract post data including scores, comment counts, and timestamps

Install the integration

  1. Log in to Autohive and navigate to Your user profile > Connections or Your workspace -> Manage workspace

  2. Locate the Reddit Integration card and click Connect

  3. Authorize with Reddit

    You will be redirected to Reddit to authorize the connection. The integration requires the following permissions:

    • read: To view content and search posts
    • submit: To post comments and replies

  4. Confirm installation - you’ll be redirected to Autohive with “Connected” status displayed

Use the integration

You can now use the integration with your agents, workflows and scheduled tasks!

  1. Follow our Create your first agent guide on how to create an agent.
  2. In the ‘Agent settings’, scroll down to the ‘Add capabilities’ section and turn on the Reddit capability. You can choose what individual Reddit capabilities to turn on and off.
  3. Once the settings have been selected, begin prompting the agent of the workflow you’d like to achieve with Autohive and Reddit!

Available capabilities

Search Subreddit Posts

  • Purpose: Find posts in any subreddit with customizable filters
  • Use cases: Brand monitoring, trend discovery, gathering customer feedback
  • Configuration:
    • Subreddit: The name of the subreddit to search (e.g., “technology” instead of “r/technology”)
    • Query: The keywords or terms to search for
    • Sort: Order results by relevance, hot, top, new, or comments
    • Time Filter: Limit results to a specific time period (day, week, month, year, or all time)
    • Limit: The maximum number of posts to retrieve
  • Output: Provides post details including title, content, author, engagement scores, and links

Post Comment

  • Purpose: Post a comment on a Reddit post or reply to another comment
  • Use cases: Automated support responses, sharing resources, community engagement
  • Configuration:
    • Reply To: The specific post or comment to reply to (identified by its ID)
    • Text: The content of your comment or reply
  • Output: Confirmation of the posted comment with a direct link

  1. Search Subreddit Posts: Search r/technology or relevant niche subreddits for “YourProduct”.

Disconnect the integration

Important: Disconnecting stops data synchronization but preserves existing data in both systems.

  1. Navigate to Your user profile -> Connections or Your workspace -> Manage workspace
  2. Find the Reddit Integration
  3. Click Disconnect and confirm

Data Impact: Existing data remains unchanged in both systems, but sync stops and Autohive loses Reddit API access.
