The Autohive NZBN integration connects you to the New Zealand Business Number Register, enabling:

  • Entity search - Search the NZBN directory by name, trading name, NZBN, or company number with advanced filtering
  • Detailed entity information - Retrieve comprehensive business entity data including status, type, and registration details
  • Address management - Access registered office, physical, postal, and service addresses for any entity
  • Role and officer information - View directors, shareholders, and other officers associated with entities
  • Trading name tracking - List all current and historical trading names with date ranges
  • Company-specific details - Access NZ company constitution, annual return dates, and company numbers
  • Tax information - Retrieve GST numbers registered to business entities
  • Industry classification - Get ANZSIC industry codes and descriptions for business categorization
  • Change tracking - Monitor recent changes to entities for data synchronization and compliance

Install the integration

  1. Log in to Autohive and navigate to Your user profile > Connections or Your workspace -> Integrations

  2. Locate the NZBN Integration card and click Connect to workspace

  3. Configure API access - the NZBN API is publicly accessible and requires no authentication

  4. Confirm installation - you’ll see “Connected” status displayed

Use the integration

You can now use the integration with your agents, workflows and scheduled tasks!

  1. Follow our Create your first agent guide on how to create an agent.
  2. In the ‘Agent settings’, scroll down to the ‘Add Integrations and Agents’ section, click ‘Add integrations and agents’, and select NZBN. You can choose what individual NZBN capabilities to turn on and off.
  3. Once the settings have been selected, begin prompting the agent with the workflow you’d like to achieve with Autohive and NZBN!

Entity Search and Retrieval

  • Search Entities: Search the NZBN directory by name, trading name, NZBN (13-digit identifier), or company number with filtering by entity status and type (up to 100 results per page)
  • Get Entity Details: Retrieve comprehensive information about specific business entities using their NZBN including status, type, registration date, and source register

Address Information

  • Get Entity Addresses: Access all addresses associated with an entity including registered office, address for service, physical address, and postal address with optional filtering by address type

Role and Officer Management

  • Get Entity Roles: Retrieve roles and officers associated with entities including directors, shareholders, and other appointed positions with current status

Trading Names

  • Get Trading Names: List all trading names (current and historical) registered to a business entity with start and end dates for accurate business identification

Company-Specific Information

  • Get Company Details: Access NZ company-specific information including constitution details, annual return filing dates, and company numbers (only applicable to NZ companies)

Disconnect the integration

Important: Disconnecting removes access to the NZBN API from your Autohive workspace.

  1. Navigate to Your user profile -> Connections or Your workspace -> Integrations
  2. Find the NZBN Integration
  3. Click Disconnect and confirm

Data Impact: The NZBN integration accesses public data only. Disconnecting stops API access but does not affect any data stored in the NZBN register.
