Microsoft Word
The Autohive Microsoft Word integration connects your Microsoft 365 documents with Autohive’s automation platform, enabling:
- Document discovery - Find and list Word documents (.docx) in OneDrive, SharePoint, or Group drives with filtering by name and folder path
- Content reading - Extract document content in plain text, HTML, or markdown format with word count and paragraph statistics
- Document creation - Create new Word documents with optional initial content or from templates
- Content manipulation - Update entire documents, insert text at specific locations, and perform find-and-replace operations
- Advanced formatting - Access and manage paragraphs with formatting information and style preservation
- Table extraction - Retrieve structured table data from documents for data processing workflows
- PDF export - Convert Word documents to PDF format for distribution and archival purposes
Install the integration
Log in to Autohive and navigate to Your user profile > Connections or Your workspace -> Integrations
Locate the Microsoft Word Integration card and click Connect to workspace

Authorize with Microsoft - you’ll be redirected to Microsoft’s authorization page
Review and approve permissions. Autohive requests access to:
- Read and write files in OneDrive
- Access SharePoint files
Ensure you approve the permissions required in order for the integration to function as expected.
Confirm installation - you’ll be redirected to Autohive with “Connected” status displayed
Use the integration
You can now use the integration with your agents, workflows and scheduled tasks!
- Follow our Create your first agent guide on how to create an agent.
- In the ‘Agent settings’, scroll down to the ‘Add Integrations and Agents’ section, click ‘Add integrations and agents’, and select Microsoft Word. You can choose what individual Word capabilities to turn on and off.
- Once the settings have been selected, begin prompting the agent with the workflow you’d like to achieve with Autohive and Microsoft Word!

Document Discovery
- List Word Documents: Find accessible Word documents (.docx) in OneDrive/SharePoint with filtering by name and folder path (up to 100 results per page with pagination)
- Get Document Metadata: Retrieve document properties including metadata, permissions, file details, and modification history
Content Operations
- Get Document Content: Read document text in plain text, HTML, or markdown format with word count, character count, and paragraph statistics
- Get Paragraphs: Extract all paragraphs from documents with optional formatting information and style details

Disconnect the integration
Important: Disconnecting stops data synchronization but preserves existing data in both systems.
- Navigate to Your user profile -> Connections or Your workspace -> Integrations
- Find the Microsoft Word Integration
- Click Disconnect and confirm
Data Impact: Existing data remains unchanged in both systems, but sync stops and Autohive loses Microsoft Graph API access.
Uninstall the app
From Microsoft: Go to your Microsoft Account settings > Apps & Permissions > Find Autohive and revoke access.
