The Autohive Canva integration connects your Canva account with Autohive’s automation platform, enabling:

  • Manage and organize assets - Upload, update, tag, and delete images, videos, and audio files in your Canva library
  • Create and export designs - Create new blank designs and export them in various formats (PDF, PNG, JPG, PPTX, GIF, MP4)
  • Organize content using folders - Create hierarchical folder structures to organize designs and assets efficiently
  • Import external designs - Import PDF and PPTX files from local uploads or URLs as editable Canva designs
  • Design discovery - Search and filter designs with query, ownership, and sorting capabilities
  • Workflow automation - Move items between folders to track design lifecycle through folder-based workflows
  • Asynchronous operations - Handle long-running upload, export, and import jobs with status tracking

Install the integration

Before you begin: Ensure you are logged in or signed up to Autohive.

  1. Log in to Autohive and navigate to Your user profile > Connections or Your workspace -> Manage workspace

  2. Locate the Canva Integration card and click Connect

  3. Authorize with Canva - you’ll be redirected to Canva’s authorization page

  4. Review and approve permissions. Autohive requests access to:

    Ensure you approve the permissions required in order for the integration to function as expected.

  5. Confirm installation - you’ll be redirected to Autohive with “Connected” status displayed


Use the integration

You can now use the integration with your agents, workflows and scheduled tasks!

  1. Follow our Create your first agent guide on how to create an agent.
  2. In the ‘Agent settings’, scroll down to the ‘Add capabilities’ section and turn on the Canva capability. You can choose what individual Canva capabilities to turn on and off.
  3. Once the settings have been selected, begin prompting the agent of the workflow you’d like to achieve with Autohive and Canva!

Asset Management

  • Upload Asset: Upload images, videos, or audio files to your Canva asset library
  • Get Asset Upload Status: Track asset upload jobs and retrieve asset details when complete
  • Get Asset: Retrieve metadata for specific assets including id, name, tags, and thumbnail URLs

  • Delete Asset: Remove assets from your library (moves to trash)

Design Management

Disconnect the integration

Important: Disconnecting stops data synchronization but preserves existing data in both systems.

  1. Navigate to Your user profile -> Connections or Your workspace -> Manage workspace
  2. Find the Canva Integration
  3. Click Disconnect and confirm

Data Impact: Existing data remains unchanged in both systems, but sync stops and Autohive loses Canva API access.


Uninstall the app

From Canva: Go to your Canva account settings > Apps & integrations > Find Autohive and revoke access
